You Can Check To See If Your Veterinary Technology Program Is Accredited Following These Links:

Graduated From a Program Accredited By CVMA or AVMA:

As an internationally trained veterinary technologist, if you have graduated from a veterinary technology program that is accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association or the American Veterinary Medical Association, your next step will be to submit the required documents to the ABVMA and take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), if you haven’t already done so.

Graduated From a Program NOT Accredited By CVMA or AVMA:

If you have graduated from a veterinary technology or nursing program that is not accredited by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association or the American Veterinary Medical Association, there are two assessment routes you can explore:

Alberta Process: This involves applying directly through the ABVMA. To go this route head on to the ABVMA website here.
PAVE: This route is offered through the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). PAVE for Veterinary Technicians is a pathway for veterinary technicians/nurses who are graduates of international programs not accredited by the CVMA or AVMA.
